Winner of the “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises”

We are very happy! HEICO Aircraft Maintenance has been named a finalist for the prestigious "Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises". With this award, the Oskar Patzelt Foundation honors outstanding achievements by small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany. We made it into the top 3 in Saxony (out of over 450 nominees). Almost 4.500 companies across Germany are taking part in this competition, and being a finalist among the top 50 is quite something!

The Oskar Patzelt Foundation annually awards the "Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" to small and medium-sized enterprises that are distinguished by their economic strength, innovative power, social responsibility and regional roots. The prize is one of the most important awards for small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and highlights their important role in society and the economy. The foundation not only emphasizes the innovative power of the companies, but also their ability to preserve traditions and pass them on to future generations.

With the nomination and placement among the top 3 in Saxony, HEICO Aircraft Maintenance is recognized as one of the leading companies in these areas. A big thank you goes to the Oskar Patzelt Foundation and the entire HEICO Aircraft Maintenance team, whose commitment and passion have contributed significantly to this success. Together we look forward to the challenges and projects ahead with joy and confidence.

As a leading provider of MRO services in Europe, a clear vision, a consistent corporate strategy and the successful management of global challenges are important to us. In order to meet these requirements, we continuously invest in modern processes and technologies. A crucial milestone was the move to the new, state-of-the-art location in Schkeuditz, which laid the foundation for further growth and a future-proof orientation.

A little bit of history: In 2000, HEICO Aircraft Maintenance was founded and received the EASA Part 145 certification that is so important for its work. Dieter Krah, a Lufthansa Technik employee with 15 years of experience, came on board as managing partner. He opened HEICO technical stations in Frankfurt, Munich, Hanover and Wiesbaden, as well as HEICO Aircraft Aeroparts & Services GmbH, which manufactured welded components for aircraft diesel engines. In 2009, Airbus A380 Engine Support was launched in Hamburg, where initial experience with repair technologies for fiber composite materials was gained. This resulted in a mobile repair unit that repairs damage to fiber composite materials directly on the aircraft.

This was the basis for today's services of HEICO Aircraft Maintenance. With this experience, the Aircraft Component Repair Center was set up in Leipzig in 2017, which is now one of the largest independent repair companies for aircraft components in Europe.
