25 Years of HEICO Aircraft Maintenance
HEICO Aircraft Maintenance was founded in 2000, and the crucial EASA Part 145 certification was granted. With Dieter Krah, Managing Partner of HEICO Aircraft Maintenance, a long-time Lufthansa Technik employee joined the company, bringing 15 years of experience in various fields. His work in engine repair provided initial experience with repairs to fiber-reinforced composites directly on the aircraft. Building on this experience, the Aircraft Component Repair Center in Leipzig was established in 2017, which today is one of the largest independent aircraft component repair facilities in Europe. Looking back positively on many successful projects from the past, we are now looking forward to the future – and to our move to the newly constructed hangar (end of 2026/beginning of 2027).
Serve2Fly – 20 years at Weeze Airport
Serve2Fly, a joint venture between HEICO and Losch Airport Service, has been successfully operating at Weeze Airport for many years. Today, Serve2Fly is much more than just a ground handling service; it is an integral part of many services at Weeze Airport.
For 20 years, Serve2Fly has ensured smooth operations – from baggage handling and pushback to de-icing and nightly cabin cleaning. Serve2Fly has repeatedly been recognized by Ryanair as the best ground handling service in Europe – a prestigious accolade in the industry that demonstrates the excellence of the team in Weeze. With growing passenger numbers at Weeze Airport and increasing demands for efficiency and sustainability, the team is investing in digital processes, training, and new service concepts. The goal is to further strengthen its position as the most reliable partner for airlines in Europe – while preserving the spirit that has made it so successful: passion, precision, and a customer-centric approach.
The operational heart of the operation beats Kato Sürün, 41 years old, Station Manager and part of the team since 2007. He started as a loader on the apron and therefore knows the business inside and out. Step by step, he worked his way up and is now responsible for all operational business at the site – thank you very much!
