Retail properties are our strength.

We invest in new, projected or existing retail properties with a focus on supermarkets, discounters, hypermarkets or associated properties such as small retail parks with anchor tenants from the food retail sector. We invest between two and 20 million euros per property. A particular focus is on locations that are of great importance for the basic supply in the respective catchment area.

ESG / Sustainability

We endeavor to follow numerous ESG criteria in the management of our funds and to make the greatest possible contribution, in particular to ecological sustainability. In principle, we have aimed to focus on the decarbonization of real estate in our ESG strategy, since an ecological approach is more appropriate for this asset class than social and governance aspects. In addition to the purchase of properties that already have a high technical standard, our investment strategy also envisages the purchase of properties that require energy renovation. We summarize our strategy under the working title MANAGE TO ESG. But of course we also take ESG issues into account in our corporate strategy, because sustainability is a top priority at HEICO.

Our funds and services.

Basic Welfare Fund

Basic care is an increasingly important aspect of society in Germany. In addition to elementary tasks such as providing the necessary infrastructure or offering basic services in the fields of education or medicine, supplying the population with food and periodic goods is also playing an increasingly important role. Together with a German insurance company, HEICO Investment has set up the basic supply fund with a current target volume of around EUR 180 million in order to invest sustainably in basic supply using real estate with a food anchor.

We are launching a food fund that will primarily invest in supermarkets, discounters, large-scale centers, hypermarkets and small retail parks. The food trade in particular has benefited from the continuous increase in consumer spending. At the same time, awareness of healthy nutrition has increased in Germany in recent years and price sensitivity has decreased. Last but not least, Corona has shown how stable this asset class is even in times of crisis.

With our funds, we invested nationwide exclusively in retail properties with a food supplier as the anchor tenant. With this strategy, we are pursuing a long-term investment. After several transactions in the western federal states, we want to become more involved in the eastern German market in the future. We see this region as an opportunity because there are many proven locations with well-functioning retail parks. We're always looking at a variety of options.
